I remember it vividly: in third grade, while my dad drove me home from school, I looked at him through the rearview mirror and asked, "Daddy, is the color blue that you see the same color blue that I see?"
It's a question for the ages that mixes neurology with philosophy. I'm leaning toward yes, that we all perceive the same color because it is just certain wavelengths exciting the cone cells in our retinas. The optic nerve (cranial nerve II) then transmits electrical impulses to our occipital lobes to organize the light. Maybe from there the color perception can get jumbled up as our brain integrates the colors into an image.
Whatever the answer is, take this color challenge to see just how discerning you are of colors (I'm a 3 :).
